GOODWOOD REVIVAL
The Goodwood Revival is a three day event that has been held each September since 1998. It’s the world’s most popular historic motor race meeting and the only event of its kind to be staged entirely in the nostalgic time capsule of the 1940s, 50s and 60s that relives the glory days of Goodwood Motor Circuit. It is the biggest and best historic motor racing party of the year.

It is the biggest and best historic motor racing party of the year.
When planning my travel itinerary to Photokina a few years ago, my friend of many years, Peter Barwick (who is also responsible for the creation of Camera Film Photo), mentioned Goodwood Revival and said I should come to the festival with him as I would enjoy photographing everyone dressed in period clothing. So, in keeping with the theme of the event, I have been using my Rolleiflex 2.8E and Rollei CR 200 Color Reversal film. And each time I attend the event, I continue to use the same camera and the same film each year.
Rollei CR 200, with its rich and warm colors and subtle contrasts, turned out to be the perfect film to capture Goodwood’s special aura and atmosphere.

By profession, Vishal Soniji is an information technology specialist and has been working in this industry for the last 16 years. Vishal did photography mostly during the weekends to clear his mind far away from work and it helped him relax. In 2013, he decided to leave his very hectic and stressful career to pursue his passion, which was photography.
Vishal’s interest in photography started in 2007, and soon after he fell in love with analog photography and began to only photograph with film. Being self-taught made him learn everything the hard way, but he enjoyed the process of experimenting and learning on this medium. In 2013, Vishal established Camera Film Photo when he was given an amazing opportunity to be the sole distributor for Rollei film, paper, and chemistry within Asia. Camera Film Photo has now become a full-time job and his objective is to share the love of analog photography.
